Client / Project Snapshot

KaushalAI is a self-initiated product built to solve skilling and certification access for India's informal workforce — workers who are often left out of upskilling platforms because everything is in English. Built and shipped as v1 during Ideas to Impact 2026, then taken into a full v2 rebuild.

The Problem

India's informal workforce has real skills but no way to get them verified or certified — and almost every skilling platform in the market assumes English fluency, cutting out a huge chunk of the workforce that operates in regional languages. There was no simple, AI-driven way for someone to get assessed and walk away with a verifiable credential in their own language.

My Role & Approach

Designed and built the full stack solo as part of a 3-person team ('git add .env') — went from problem statement to pitch deck to a working prototype in a hackathon timeframe. Architected the product around three pillars: vernacular accessibility (i18next, 7 Indian languages), AI-driven skill assessment (Gemini 2.5 Flash), and trust (QR-verifiable PDF certificates). Also built dual-role RBAC so both learners and assessors/employers could use the same platform.

The Solution / What You Built

  • MERN stack MVP shipped end-to-end in the hackathon window
  • 7-language vernacular support via i18next (Hindi, Marathi, English, and more)
  • AI-powered skill assessments using Gemini 2.5 Flash across 6 vocational trades
  • QR-verifiable PDF certificates for instant credential trust
  • Dual-role RBAC architecture (learner / verifier)

Results / Impact

1st place, Ideas to Impact 2026 — competing against 50+ teams from 14+ institutions, hosted by the Awadh Incubation Foundation (KMCLU). The win validated both the product thesis and the execution speed — a full working AI product built and pitched in a compressed timeframe.

Client Quote / Testimonial

Judges and mentors recognized KaushalAI's vernacular-first approach as directly addressing a gap most skilling platforms ignore — and were impressed a working AI-integrated MVP was built and demoed within the hackathon window.
